Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board invites online applications from the candidates for the posts of Sub-Inspector of Police (Taluk, Armed Reserve and Tamil Nadu Special Police) with pay scale of Rs36900 -116600

Sub-Inspector of Police (AR) : 276 (General/Men-193, Women/Transgender-83)

Sub-Inspector of Police (TSP) : 33 (General/Men)

Quota/ Percentage of overall vacancies & Eligibility

Departmental quota - 20%  - Serving police personnel meeting eligibility criteria under Rule 14 of TNPSS and TNSPSS Rules

Sports Quota - 10% - Sports persons who have represented National, State or Inter-University in specified 15 Sports / Games.

Age Limit : The applicant should have attained the age of 20 and should not be aged above 28 years as on 01072019 The upper age limit relaxation is given to certain categories as follows:-

BC (Backward Class),BC (M) (Backward Class (Muslim)),MBC (Most Backward Class)/ DNC (De-notified Community) : -  30 yrs

SC (Scheduled Castes),SC(A) (Scheduled Castes (Arunthathiyar]),ST (Scheduled Tribes) : -  33 yrs

Destitute Widow : -  35 yrs

Note :

Written examination for departmental quota is held separately A departmental candidate may apply for both open and departmental examination, if he/she satisfies the eligibility criteria

ii In case required number of candidates are not available for any of the special quotas (Departmental and Sports) the vacancies would be transferred to general quota and filled on communal reservation

iii.

Communal reservation is provided within each quota as per existing rules

PSTM preference: During the final provisional selection, 20% of vacancies shall be set apart on preferential basis for the open candidates who studied the Bachelor's degree in Tamil Medium

The Heads of the Departments of Police, Fire and Rescue Services and Prison will intimate the estimated number of vacancies to the Government in the respective categories by September every year for which recruitment has to be conducted for next year by the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board on the orders of the Government.

The Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) was constituted by the Government of Tamil Nadu in November 1991 vide G.O. Ms. No. 1806, Home (Ser.F) Department, dated 29.11.1991 for the recruitment of personnel for the Uniformed Services like Police, Prison and Fire and Rescue Services. The TNUSRB consists of one Chairman in the rank of Director General of Police, one Member in the rank of Additional Director General of Police, one Member Secretary in the rank of Inspector General of Police one Superintendent of Police, one Legal Adviser,one Senior Administrative Officer, one Deputy Superintendent of Police, one Personal Assistant and 20 other office staffs.
