Associate Director Public Policy Government Affairs Job In Pepsico In India, Gurgaon / Gurugram

• The incumbent of the position will focus on strengthening PepsiCo relationships with key government agencies, relevant organizations from a corporate affairs standpoint PepsiCo is committed to playing an active and constructive role in the on-going development of policies that meet the needs of the company, the FMCG community, and the society at large
• The company's government relations and policy programs seek to support the growth of the ecosystem by helping to create a dialogue with government authorities that promote sound public policies and addresses emerging regulatory, policy and legislative issues This position will fall under the India PPGA team It will report to Head of India Region PPGA.
  
  
• Sounds relationship and adherence to government affairs related to existing plants and upcoming plants , seeking licenses and removing hurdeles agencies particularly at the state & local level to ensure our ongoing and expansion plans are unhindered
• Working with policy makers, industry associations to help drive the 'better for you' agenda for the organization by positioning brand PepsiCo approprotaely with FSSAI (our most important stakeholder) & Ministry of Consumer Affairs who are also increasingly focusing on the health aspect of package foods

• Through Public Policy & advocacy at three PepsiCo's Snacks plants and engage with external stakeholders to ensure proactive involvement in shaping and influencing government policies to ensure commercial success
• Positioning company as Thought leader on F&B policies within state government, key regulators, Industry associations, Think tanks, NGOs and other stakeholders key Policy issues engaged on GST, Ease of Doing Business, Make in India, Smart Cities etc Build, establish and coordinate relationships with key ministries/Organizations ( State)
• Work closely and network with key functionaries in the Government like Commerce & Industry, Finance, Ministry of Food Processing, Health, Consumer Affairs & Agriculture Help in building a positive image of company and represent PepsiCo's business and work extensively with Industry Groups & Associations like FICCI, ASSOCHAM, CII etc, including providing inputs and direction to proactive/ reactive responses by Associations/ chambers to industry issues, policy development etc
• The incumbent will develop and maintain respective government affairs monitoring tools and processes required to deliver this expertise in a manner that meets legislative and evidentiary requirements.
  
  The role holder will understand the sophisticated and complex external environment as well as PepsiCo's business and products
• The role holder will continue to support the Kosi & Channo plants
• The role holder should develop and share India specific 'customer insight' to the policymakers, translate these insights into an agreed long-term country strategy In this regard the he will further align the local Indian government relations work with the sectoral strategy on business priorities The incumbent needs to collaborate closely with functions across, including others in government relations and public policy, Corpo rate Communications, and other key internal stakeholders to promote a cross-functional approach for achieving functional and business goals in the
• Policy Tracking & Advocacy - Regularly track the upcoming notifications wr.
  
  t State Related Matters, Getting regular updates of key initiatives of Government of India Follow-up with respective Government Department for upcoming policy and changes in the existing policy Preparation and submission of strategic representation before Government Authorities Prepare and update key policy matrix on monthly basis
• Facilitate interactions of Senior Management with Ministers and Senior Bureaucrats of Government of India & State
• Issue Resolution and Handholding support :Strategically work with other team for risk mitigation strategies Support other functional team including sales team, Plant & Business in pursuing urgent matters with Government.
  
  Getting necessary approvals wrt critical matters Seeking necessary clarification for urgent matters from various Government Departments Keep track of progress of interaction with Each Govt.
  
  Agency and complete the formalities and clear any concerns / objections raised by the Govt agencies

• MBA/Master with 18+ years of prior experience PPGA matters, economic affairs, corporate advocacy or experience in industry associations like FICCI, CII, Chamber of Commerce etc
• Experience in handing Central / State level ministry / Bureaucrats / political bodies Understanding of business and macroeconomic aspect
• Require excellent influencing , networking and presentation skillsFunctional Skills Required
• Understanding of PPGA trends and Govt and industrial policies and its implications on industries Good understanding of relevant industry laws/rules that impact industries in short and long terms
• Understanding of trends that would impact industry in future
• Deep understanding of Govt and Political structure/ dynamics and ways of working across various states and central Govt
