Category Manager - Marine Lubricants, Paints, Chemicals & GasesDo you have what it takes to become a member of a world-class, international category management teamDo you have the ability, the drive and the ambition to challenge status quo and the influencing skills that can deliver extraordinary results in a dynamic and complex environmentAre you passionate about negotiations, category strategies, and decarbonizationWe offer If you can say 'Yes' to above, then you may be just the one we are looking for to drive the sourcing and contracting of lubricants, paints, chemicals & gases for Maersk's marine operations!The position is based in Mumbai, India and some travel can be expected to engage with suppliers and internal stakeholdersKey ResponsibilitiesAs Category Manager in the Maersk Procurement department, you will work closely with technical and operational entities within Maersk and with suppliers to define and deliver cost-competitive, differentiated solutions to the Maersk fleet of vessels You will be a key contributor to the continued development and implementation of Maersk Procurement's ESG strategy with a strong focus on the decarbonization of Maersk's operations You will build a broad network and collaborative relationships to implement category strategies and support our various stakeholders and prioritiesYour responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing sourcing and risk management strategies for the lubricants, paints, chemicals & gases categories.
  
  
• Multi-Million USD $ vendor negotiations and offer evaluation based on our strategy and value for money evaluation criteria
• Internal and external stakeholder management with a strong emphasis on creating partnerships and cooperation's that create measurable competitive advantage
• Addressing day-to-day operational queries for Maersk within your area of responsibility
• Establishing and applying cost modelling concepts, spend & demand analysis and evaluations
• Developing client specific budget plans, forecasts, including cost mitigation initiatives.
  
  
• Negotiating supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with Group policies and business principles

Who we are looking forWe are looking for a candidate who is passionate about lubricants, paints, and/ or chemicals & gases and has the will, curiosity, and experience to impact the businessYou are an action-orientated individual with minimum 5 years' experience in procurement or technical sales & marketing within the maritime, transport or other relevant industry, for example as category manager, product manager or project manager

• Ideally, you have experience/ knowledge of the lubricants, paints, or chemicals industry and have a good understanding of the industry, key technology trends and major/emerging players
• You have strong interpersonal skills and are good at developing cross-functional internal and external relationships.
  
  
• You have a proven track record of planning and executing projects
• You have a strong commercial mindset with a natural focus on achieving the most cost-effective solutions for the business
• You are a team player who enjoys working in a cross-functional, multicultural setting and enjoys sharing your knowledge
• You have an entrepreneurial mindset and are good at balancing multidimensional stakeholder demands with the need for results
• You are an excellent communicator in both written and spoken English
• Your educational background is BSc or MSc in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or similar
