Identification of new suppliers by leading and supporting localization activities Drive supplier management (selection/ qualification, evaluation, auditing, development) to gain the best suppliers and guarantee an optimum supply chain Implementation of procurement and sourcing goal according to the global commodity strategies to ensure long-term, cost-effective supply of materials and monitoring the Indian market to bring new suppliers into the purchasing portfolio Deep understanding of the localization process starting from the selection of suppliers to the release of components and start of serial production.
Support activities such as scheduling, make or buy decisions by taking commercial, technical and quality requirements Managing Purchasing topics like RFQ preparation, driving negotiation of various commodities like mechanical assemblies, Castings, Forging, Epoxy parts, Plastics & Rubber molding etc Engaging cross-functional teams to achieve a successful execution of the project objectives Supporting on global frame work contract and price negotiations to minimize the risks with suppliers for medium to large volumesTasks / Responsibilities.
Coordinating the supplier management within the project scope Conduct eSourcing, eRFQ, eBidding and eAuction activities Knowledge of procurement plan, KPI's & MIS is an added advantage Conduct Cost breakdown analysis of offers & negotiations, coordination with Engineering & ensure the techno-commercial evaluation of the offers Ability to develop zero base costing, develop short term and long-term strategies for commodities in line with global commodity strategies.
Support @ Supplier Capacity Mapping, Supplier Risk Assessments, Audits & Quality Improvements Adhere to Siemens process and complianceQualifications: University degree in engineering (Preferably Mechanical /Production or Electrical) along with knowledge of SAP and Supply Chain Management, MS office and other analytical tools Master's degree is an asset 8-10 years of relevant experience in the field of procurement and supply chain management.
Strong written and verbal communication skills both in English and local Indian languagesExpectations Basic understanding of manufacturing processes like Sheet Metal Fabrication and welding techniques, Casting, Thermoset / Thermoplastic Molding, Hardware, Springs & services Broad knowledge of cross-functional support/infrastructure processes and ability to connect loose ends into streamlined and harmonized results for the benefit of the organization Detailed understanding of pricing structure and negotiation techniques Experience in Medium Voltage Switchgear business would be an added advantage.
Previous experience of monitoring performance against KPIs and implementing corrective action where necessary and ensure that best practice is used across the team Good understanding of quality management systems (ISO 9001: 2008/2015), EHS & HIRA processes.
Experience in international business and cross-functional collaboration Good supplier market knowledge in terms of manufacturing technologies and Commodities Strong team working and customer orientation Experience of processes mapping and optimization Moderation skills for workshops.
