Job Description : Commvault Backup EngineerLocation : Bangalore/Pune Experience :3 - 5 yearsWho are we looking forSomeone with of Commvault installation, Configuration, Troubleshooting experience in an Enterprise environment and hands on experience in Operations and Support on Commvault Backup application Technical Skills: Technologies and Concepts Domain expertise in Commvault Backup solution, Enterprise backup environment, Snapshots, Intellisnaps, Backup Policies, Media Agents, in-depth understanding of Commvault Backup environment Awareness of Virtualization technologies (at least one), Storage Array (at least), SAN concepts, D2D & Tape Library concepts including associated technologies in an Enterprise multi-site Backup environment, to be able to drive meaningful technical discussions Experience on Commvault Troubleshooting, Configuration, Upgrade, Policies, extensive understanding of Backup and Restore options Understanding of end to end monitoring of Commvault Environment using SNMP, Email alerting, customize alerting options from CommCell, Media Agent Server etc.
with skills on collaborating with Experts from ITSM Tool like ServiceNow to configure, deploy Commvault backup solution Understanding of configuring, deploying Disaster Recovery options using Commvault Understanding of Datacenter Technologies Server, Networking, Storage, Virtualization, Operating Systems, Security, Backup/Restore/DR etc Familiarity with monitoring and ticketing tools like ServiceNow, SFDC, Solar Winds, Nagios Problem detection and analysis of root cause.
Entry level of planning, project management and change management skills Plan and configure Commvault logical components like storage policies, schedule policies and subclient policies Troubleshooting backup failures, escalate issues to next peers and do followups Experience on Commvault architecture with multiple CIs involved Process Skills: Capable of working constructively in a highly pressurized environment.
Willing to work after office hours to manage critical customer escalations when necessary 24x7 availability as required for 'Out of Hours' (OOH) coverage Demonstrates the ability to work with and be sensitive to other cultures Skilled in utilizing methodologies for problem management and resolution of escalated issues Plan and implement best practices for backup solutions Create and update documentation for Commvault backup procedures, solutions, licensing and applicable project artifacts.
