Career DescriptionJob DescriptionAdvance Auto Parts, a leader in the automotive aftermarket, currently have an opening for Data Engineer As an Data Engineer at Advance Auto Parts, you will have an opportunity to disrupt a $100B auto parts industry to bring better and faster solutions to customers You will be responsible for identifying opportunities to solve business problems by applying innovative solutions using data & analytics Specifically, you will:

• Ability to build Power BI Reports/ Dashboards and Reports by connecting to varied data sources
• Comfortable in working on DAX formula language
• Perform extract, transform, join & project data from disparate sources like Snowflake/Teradata, AWS, Azure Synapse, SQL Server, flat files
• Experience in working with Power BI gateways
• Ability to Perform Data Cleansing and Data Profiling.
  
  
• Ability to optimize report performance
• Experience in implementing Row Level Security
• Document, collaborate & communicate with multiple stake holders
• Able to work with platform team in problem solving and troubleshooting activities
• Develop, Maintain, support, and enhance the business intelligence data backend, including data warehouses and data lakes
• Coordinate and communicate between business users and the data engineering teams
• Ability to organize and lead meetings with business and operational data owners
• Work closely with business stakeholder, data analyst and data engineering team to perform data transformation
• Propose Standard and Best Practices in Power BI
• Apply creative thinking/approach to arrive at technical solutions that enhance business goals and align with corporate technology strategies
• Help Application teams in onboarding the feeds in to the built-in frameworks
• Make sure to follow best design practices during the implementation of ETL Frameworks
• Develop prototypes, technical proof of concepts and code with various solutions and convert platform architecture blueprints to real life working artifacts

Qualification:

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• At least 5 years of experience in application design, development or analysis and in Business Intelligence
• Experience in Power BI Reporting tool.
  
  Retail Industry experience preferred
• Implement data transformations and data structures for data warehouse and lake/repository
• Manage cloud and/or on-premises solutions for data transfer and storage
• Collaborate and work with data analysts in various functions to ensure that data meets their reporting and analysis needs
• Proven ability to be a strategic thinker to drive the necessary ownership and data governance within the organization
• Ability to evaluate risks and provide business recommendations / solutions in a timely manner
• Ability to remain calm in high stress situations while navigating and leading during times of conflict
• Should have sound knowledge in various reporting services
• Able to understand the existing Power BI Reports and Dashboards.
  
  
• Able to understand the existing Frameworks built in various ETL Frameworks
• Able to scan existing reports and propose optimizations and cost savings
• Able to work independently and able to take key decisions
• Comfortable interacting with stakeholders at all levels through Business and IT
• Ability to express complex concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing to IT & Business partners
• Understanding of and experience working in an Agile environment
• Knowledge on Talend Cloud ETL, Snowflake Warehouse is addon
• Independent.
