Pay Scale of the post: Level-6 of Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC scale (PB 2 with Grade pay of 4200 as per 6 CPC Scale)

Method of recruitment: Deputation

Period of deputation: Three years

Eligibility: Officers of the Central Government — '
(i) Holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or Department; or
(ii) with six years' service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in level-5 of pay matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or Department

Educational and other Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Applications or Information Technology or Computer Science from a recognized University or Institute

Age Limit: Upper Age limit Not exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications

The Cabinet Secretariat is responsible for the administration of the Government of India (Transaction of Business) Rules, 1961 and the Government of India (Allocation of Business) Rules 1961, facilitating smooth transaction of business in Ministries/ Departments of the Government by ensuring adherence to these rules. The Secretariat assists in decision-making in Government by ensuring Inter-Ministerial coordination, ironing out differences amongst Ministries/ Departments and evolving consensus through the instrumentality of the standing/ adhoc Committees of Secretaries. Through this mechanism new policy initiatives are also promoted.
