DESCRIPTIONThe Hyderabad region owned by Amazon Data Services Private Limited (ADSIPL) comprises a two BPM (Prod only Region) COLO sites and three HYD owned sites as part of Projects Oasis & Infinity respectively HYD region comprises of three HYD owned sites as part of project Infinity The owned sites are designed in two builds Phase-1 under Pontoon Bridge version 15 (HYD100, HYD110, HYD120) and Phase 2 (Optimal Data Centre OPTDC viz HYD101, HYD111, HYD121) on land parcels located on the outskirts of the city.
The site campus of these sites has an area of HYD100 - 52 Acres, HYD110 - 338 acres and HYD120 - 48 acres These builds comprise of critical passive infrastructure equipment like Transformers, Gensets, Electrical Switch Boards, RMUs, MEDS, Chillers, PDCs, AMCOP, BACOP, HUPS, HSSB, HSD Systems etc These builds also comprise auxiliary facilities like MMRs, STP, OWC, Pump rooms, HSD yards etc In addition, as part of green area maintenance and compliance, landscapes and trees are to be maintained and there are announced and unannounced Govt.
visits to oversee the compliance related to trees and landscape Additionally, the other compliance requirements from Electricity Board, Pollution Control Board and Property Tax authorities are outlined in the next paragraph To ensure operations of this infrastructure, it has to be ensured that there is no lapse on the compliances mandated by the local Government bodies To keep track of the compliances and ensure that the vendor contracts are in place to take care of the 3X infrastructure, there is a need to institute the role of an Individual Contributor (IC) as an Integrated Facilities & Compliance Manager reporting to the DCEO Cluster Manager in ADSIPLKey job responsibilitiesThis Role will be responsible for the following key activities and any additional activities required for cross site integrated facilities consistency.
This role will own the Base Build Equipment across all HYD sites, Manage the Facility maintenance contracts, single point of contact for Environment compliances from DCEO, Manage the following - fuel, water and landscaping This role will also oversee announced and unannounced government visits, electrical inspectors, pollution control board and labor department visitsBASIC QUALIFICATIONSAt least two years of experience of Data Center operations and on-call support for Data Center facilities An undergraduate degree in a technical field (EE, Mech E, Industrial E) .
An excellent understanding on the nature of mission critical systems (Data Centers, Hospitals, Power plants, military facilities, etc) The candidate needs to be a self-starter and independent worker.
Ability to solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context Previous vendor negotiation and management skills for Data Center and/or upgrade construction contracts Ability to write and review accurate and complete support procedures, system documentation, and issue tracking entries.
Shows good judgment and instincts in decision making under pressure Ability to prioritize in complex, fast-paced environment Proactively and continually improve his/her level of knowledge about Amazon's business and relevant technologies.
Able to demonstrate his/her ability to take ownership of technical issues brought to him/her by his/her customer base If the candidate is unable to resolve certain issues by themselves, he/she should demonstrate a willingness to actively engage other support teams to drive it to resolutionAn interest in work subject matter that ensures that the teams are kept abreast of all relevant industry standards changes and innovation practicesPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSAn excellent understanding of the Electrical systems in critical Data Center operations that include but not limited to utility substation feeds, transformers, switchgear, VFI Class UPS, DRUPS, PDUs, ATS, STS, SLA/VRLA batteries and associated systems, diesel/gas turbine generators and related fuel systems, Surge Suppression, Active Harmonic Filtering, battery monitoring systems, branch circuit monitoring systems, SCADA systems.
An excellent understanding of the Mechanical systems in critical Data Center operations include but not limited to CRAC/CRAHs/AHUs, chillers, cooling towers, storage tanks, chemical system, heat exchangers, piping systems, pumps, valves, duct systems, fans, dampers An excellent understanding of other facilities systems used in Data Centers and Mission critical facilities, including but not limited to fire detection and suppression systems, plumbing and drainage systems, Building Monitoring Systems, automatic control systemsAn excellent understanding of design, procurement, suitability of application, testing and commissioning Certifications/Accreditations that will be viewed positively: PMP Prince2 ITIL v2/3 BICSI ASHRAE, CDCP/S/E or equivalent
