Job title: Medical Head, Specialty careOur Team:The Medical Head develops and implements a Medical Operating Plan that can contribute to maximize the benefit of company products The role holder provides medical and scientific supports to all company departments, most notable, sales and marketing The role holder prepares and supervises clinical trials activities, provides strategic inputs in Medico-Marketing planning, and is responsible for pharmacovigilance and Medical Information Services The Medical director ensures that all company scientific, promotional and commercial activity respects internal, national and international ethical guidelines The position also requires a close cross functional teamwork with Regulatory Affairs as well as Public Affairs to ensure timely product registration as well as reimbursement to benefit patient population in need.
Main responsibilities:Management
- Team coordination and motivation
- Recruitment, education and career planning
Supervision of Clinical Studies
- Propose and monitor the organization, realization and follow-up of clinical studies that are carried out locally, taking into account the regulatory environment / processes and the company's internal procedures
- Organize the processing of data and statistics of phase IV studies
- Arrange for the drawing up of reports of clinical studies and publications of affiliate phase IV studies / registry projects
- Lead and motivate a team of clinical operation personnel
- Coordinate the checks on quality and time schedule
New Projects and Development Plans
- Give advice on the choice of new projects to be carried out at the affiliate by working closely with Regional R&D team
- Provide feedback on local medical development for new compounds / indications
- Work out and implement plans for clinical development in the affiliate in collaboration with head quarter and/or Regional Office
Medico-Marketing Support
- Advise on optimum medical positioning of each product in the local market in collaboration with the marketing colleagues
- Ensue medical consultation is provided for all therapeutic areas Maintain and develop active contacts with influential members of the medical community
- Provide medical expertise within the organization, enforcing total adherence to local legislation and corporate procedures
Medical Information Services
- Advise on optimum medical positioning of each product in the local market in collaboration with the marketing colleagues
- Guarantee the scientific quality of promotional material and ensure that the applicable legislation is observed
- Keep the marketing department informed about medical information that will be useful for their development plans
- Ensure adequate medical information and customer support for health care professionals in the daily usage of our brands
- Provide medical and product training for medical representatives and medical information for healthcare professionals
- Stay informed of current developments in medical/scientific communities in therapeutic areas of the portfolio
Relations with Opinion leaders and the Competent Authorities
- Report obligatory and required information to the proper authorities
- Maintain permanent relations with a network of opinion leaders, experts, and health authorities in order to maintain and reinforce the scientific position of the Group
Supervision of PharmacovigilanceSupervise, check and report undesired effects in accordance with the Group's procedures / SOPsOrganization, Management and Administration of the Department
- Anticipate and determine the needs for human and technical resources and negotiate on future budgets
- Draw up and control the department's budget
- Management, ensuring that staff are qualified and competent, properly coached, given the opportunity to develop in the company and continually motivated to handle the demands of their jobs and achieve their objectives
- Evaluate the realization of staff objectives and capabilities
- Regularly report scientific and financial information to the local board or head office
- Responsible for assessing the risk of own domain responsibility
Other Cross Fertilization Teamwork
- Optimize cross-functional support needs in the organization, ensuring effective communication between direct reports and the Regulatory, marketing and Sales Teams
- Business Development Support as appropriate, in terms of giving technical advice, review medical aspects of proposals and input on all product development and licensing opportunities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the management

- MD, Pharm D, PHD with good understanding of pharmaceutical business model
- At least 5 year of experience in medical functions in pharma business, knowledge of pharmaceutical medicine.
- Proven management experience and success in Medical Division (as Medical Director if possible), particularly with experience of Medico-Marketing as well as clinical research
- Communication, Leadership and Management, company value's advocate
