HR Admin Executive HR assistants are involved with nearly all programs and services that relate to a company's human resources division Their work, which is often decidedly administrative in nature, involves documenting grievances, terminations, absences, performance reports, and compensation and benefits information Responsibilities Include: Provides job candidates by screening, interviewing, and testing applicants; notifying existing staff of internal opportunities; maintaining personnel records; obtaining temporary staff from agencies Pays employees by calculating pay; distributing checks; maintaining records Administers student loan, medical insurance, savings bond, and disability programs by advising employees of eligibility; providing application information; helping with form completion; verifying submission; notifying employees of approvals.
Monitors unemployment claims by reviewing claims; substantiating documentation; requesting legal counsel review Maintains human resources records by recording new hires, transfers, terminations, changes in job classifications, merit increases; tracking vacation, sick, and personal time Orients new employees by providing orientation information packets; reviewing company policies; gathering withholding and other payroll information; explaining and obtaining signatures for benefit programs Documents human resources actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
Accomplishes human resources department and organization mission by completing related results as needed Qualifications Key Skills: Must be adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve programs in a timely manner Possess strong interpersonal skills Communicate clearly, both written and orally, as to communicate with employees, members of the HR management team, and in group presentations and meetings Able to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information Able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction, and must be able to improve performance through management feedback
