CSDP's Service Plane Team is a SaaS Infrastructure that is responsible for building the distributed software layer that is used for deploying, managing and monitoring various SaaS products You'll take ownership of meaningful, big-picture projects and springboard an impactful careerSuccess in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing
- You will design CSDP SaaS Platform to work efficiently with multiple cloud platforms and to provide a seamless and reliable environment for other components The design will enable it to easily scale and handle rapidly growing workloads
- You will bring SaaS mindset to the product development and delivery and adopt industry's best practices in this area.
- You will execute delivery of features with aggressive schedules, while not compromising on quality, performance, and security
- You will collaborate with various teams across CSDP organization and VMware to integrate SaaS platform with other products and components
- You will provide functional guidance to team members and help them accomplish their tasks as well as learn new technologies
What type of work will you be doing What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis
- You will be responsible for design, development, testing, delivery and support of Service Plane for VMware's DR, Ransomware Recovery, cloud storage and other related products
- You will be responsible for designing and implementing ways for easy deployment, upgrade and maintenance of Service Plane SaaS Infrastructure in cloud platforms.
- You will be responsible for the distributed micro-services based software layer for collecting and processing telemetry data from thousands of installations and integrating this data with various data warehousing, analytics and artificial intelligence tools
- You will engage with various teams in VMware to collect requirements and implement them
- You will work closely with the VMware Cloud team to integrate new capabilities of the Service Plane SaaS Infrastructure
- You will do hands-on coding and code reviews
- You will provide functional guidance to junior team members.
Key Skills & Experience Requirement
- Bachelors, Masters or PhD in Computer Science or Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of experience in
- Java/J2ee programming languages
- Object-oriented and multi-threaded programming and debugging skills
- Minimum 6 years of experience in developing Java/J2EE web applications Experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks preferred
- Experience in large-scale distributed system design, development and debugging
- Experience in cloud-native technologies like Docker, Kubernetes etc.
and Cloud Platform like AWS or VMware Cloud - Experience in designing services based on micro-service architecture interacting through APIs
Bonus Skills & Experience Requirement
- Experience in working with Databases, Data Warehousing Solution and Data Analytics Platform / Tools
- Experience with Dev-Ops, continuous development, integration and delivery
- Experience in Linux / Unix System Administration
- Experience in virtualized infrastructure and VMware ecosystem
- Experience in authoring publications and white papers
