Business Context and Main Purpose of the RoleCloud is a critical enabler of Unilever's digital future It not only changes how we store and access data but, will also fundamentally improve how our business operates Cloud enables innovation and delivery at cost effective scale and a pace by removing barriers and providing foundations for digital business transformation The Cloud Platform Services (CPS) team, part of the UniOps function, has a vision to accelerate cloud adoption to drive a future fit model for innovation and growth across Unilever The goal of a Cloud Architect is to support CPS's customers to transform their business problems through cloud architecture solutions.
You will assist engagement teams (PEM's) and delivery teams through the analysis of specific business requirements for alignment with technology architecture, deliver quality customer solutions, and communicate progress to customer engagement teams You will demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge The Cloud Architect works as a leading subject matter expert, focusing on the optimization of the enterprise cloud platforms for manageability, scalability, security, and reliability They will work very closely with Product Managers on defining cloud products and services The Cloud Architect is also responsible for identifying industry best practices, while providing technical expertise and leadership during design, build, and maintenance of PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS cloud product services.
Finally, this individual should be committed to mentoring and instructing colleagues, as well as others in the greater community, on emerging cloud technologiesMain Accountabilities You will be working alongside the CPS Product team to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for our customers You will be expected to advise customers on leading cloud technologies and architectural approaches, which can better their applications, user experiences In the role of a Cloud Architect, you will be responsible for Developing and coordinating cloud architecture artefacts across diverse areas including application development, identity and access management, network and data management, and security aligned to industry best practices.
As part of this role, you will be accountable for delivery of architecture solutions through all phases of the product lifecycle, including requirements definition, architecture design, conversion, and testing based on a proven agile methodology You will need to provide comprehensive designs for engineers on how to deliver programmatic elements of the implementation as part of the defined product service Key to this role, you will need to be competent in Architecting cloud-native, hybrid, or multi-cloud solutions to meet the customer's needs.
Create and own content and lead workshops on technical topics with the customer Engage with technical stakeholders of the customer team and third parties to understand how their systems work, be able to highlight where efficiencies or cloud-native services could improve their environment Coordinates with various departments and roles to assure that all changes fit within the overall direction of the CPS team from both a functional, technical, & support perspectiveProvide technical expertise to troubleshoot complex problems and design and implement solutions.
Assist teams to solve complex technical problems and build automation to eliminate mundane tasks Document any developed processes and procedures Demonstrate understanding of current technology environment and industry trends.
Ensures decisions around architecture are made in alignment with defined UniOps and CPS strategies with deviations from standards being accurately identified, addressed, and communicated You will be expected to stay abreast of industry trends continually researching current and emerging technologies and proposing where they may benefit Unilever and CPS customers.
Provide mentorship and coaching to technical team membersKey Skills and Relevant Experience Skills and Experience: 2+ years of experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions on Azure and GCP platforms Deep understanding of cloud computing and technology systems, as well as experience designing and transferring applications to the cloud.
Experience in Cloud Native technologies including the design and the automation of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) deployments in a blue green manner Experience in designing Platform as a Service (PaaS) capabilities to improve a new or existing environment.
Skilled in creating and reviewing designs based on code that deploys virtual networks, virtual machines, cloud services, container services, OS services, web sites, data services, etc Previous ownership of the technical solution architecture Product or project experience architecting, implementing, and optimizing core infrastructure, networking and cloud based services for business teams or consumers Experience reviewing and implementing DevOps and Agile standards and practices.
Experience configuring and tuning cloud hosted solutions and platforms Experience with Microservices, Functions, Event-driven/reactive programming or other Cloud Native architectures Be willing to mentor development team members in new technologies associated with evolving architecture Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex technical topics to senior stakeholders Excellent knowledge of cloud computing technologies and current computing trends Understanding of and experience with well-architected frameworks.
Proven ability to collaborative with multi-disciplinary teams of Product Managers, Architects, Scrum master's and Subject Matter ExpertsMinimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience 1x Cloud Architect qualification in GCP or Azure 1+ Associate level CSP certificates in GCP and/or AzureDesirable qualifications.
