Your Business:Risk Management is responsible for developing and deploying the risk frameworks to allow the Group to take conscious exposures to credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks within a Board-approved appetiteRisk Management ensures that the Group has appropriate strategies and frameworks in place to assess, manage and report on credit, market, operational, compliance and insurance risks We do this by:
- Establishing frameworks to manage risks that are consistent with the Group's business objectives
- Identifying, assessing and reporting risks to the Board, Risk and Audit Committees, Executive Committee and Business Units
- Assessing the impact of proposed changes in laws, regulations and industry codes and
- Working collaboratively with the Business Units to achieve the optimal risk and return outcomes for the Group within the risk appetite approved by the Board
Your Team:Financial Risk Modelling is a team within Risk Management that is responsible for developing models and performing advanced analytics across the Group to provide key risk and business insightsThe team develops estimates for Probability of Default, Loss Given Default and Exposure at Default for credit portfolios, including retail and non-retail.
These estimates are used across all CBA lending business units, including ASB and BankwestYour Impact & Contribution:You will be part of a skilled quantitative team serving all lending businesses across the CBA Group, and lead new initiatives contributing to the development, maintenance and enhancement of key credit risk models that are used for calculating credit risk RWA and provisioningYour role is to contribute to the management of the Financial Risk Modelling teams' Data Assets, by developing and implementing a process to bring data under management, in line with the Groups Data Management Policy and Delivery Framework Your Reporting Lines:This position reports to the Sr Manager, Data Manager and Governance, Financial Risk ModellingAs part of your role, you will interface on a day-to-day basis with other teams that have involvement in the credit modelling lifecycle across the Group, including
- Model Developers
- Independent model validation unit
- Project teams that deliver solutions for our modelling data and analytics needs,
- Enterprise services teams that implement the models we build within the bank's systems
- Business unit risk teams that conduct model monitoring and fit-for-purpose validations
- Data Owners and Data Stewards
- Support Unit Data Office
- Group Data Office
- Risk Technology
Your Skill & Experience:
- Experience within data governance will be highly regarded
- Proven ability to shape poorly defined problems using creative and critical thinking to generate strategic insights
- Exposure to large-scale Data transformation projects
- Strong business analysis skills
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills and the ability to build rapport at all levels across the organization
- Strong Agile or project management skills
- Development & Maintenance of complex business Data Asset
- Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication
- Experience in proactively managing a diverse range of internal stakeholders and presenting to technical forums, committees and line 1 business.
Your Qualification:
- At least 6 years of experience role in data management roles
- Strong data skills with expert level competency in SQL, SAS and in at least one of the open source languages of R and Python
- Industry certifications highly desirable
- Masters degree in a quantitative discipline
- Strong Governance experience Formal qualification or certification in Agile or Scrum related discipline desirable
