Job DescriptionJob descriptionWe are looking for a Manager of Taxation to join our Tax team This position will be reporting to the VP of Tax The Manager of Taxation will ensure the company complies with direct and indirect tax compliance and assist the finance group with any tax-related issues This individual will have extensive experience in operation, and tax compliance, including tax accounting and reporting Develop strategic departmental initiatives in streamlining processes, reducing manual efforts, and achieving efficiencies to meet global objectives.

- Manage and/or prepare compliance requirements, including direct and indirect tax
- Manage the process of preparation and review of tax computations, returns, reply to notices, due diligence, and ensure timely compliance
- Work with internal groups and external tax partners for tax refunds, assessments, and any other issues
- Support various groups on corporate tax advice.
- Ensuring timely filing of advance tax compliance
- Maintain tax reconciliation workpapers and tax memorandums
- Coordinate with various groups to ensure workloads and deadlines are effectively managed
Tax accounting and financial reporting:
- Prepare income tax provisions, payable, deferred taxes, etc, and related workings for financial statement purposes under US GAAP and India GAAP
- Prepare and maintain the company's Indirect tax accounts for financial statement purposes in accordance with US GAAP and ASC 450.
- Minimize return to provision true-ups by gaining deep knowledge of the tax laws and Accounting rules and the data
- Work with finance and other cross-functional teams to implement and improve end-to-end tax process and procedures to mitigate risks
- Accustomed to tight schedules and have a strong sense of urgency and accountability Plan ahead of quarterly close schedules to allow sufficient review time and provide updates to the reviewer throughout the process to minimize last-minute surprises
Tax updates and strategy:
- Keep abreast of tax regulation development and plan before enactment.
- Identify tax issues and escalate to Management timely
- Identify areas for process improvement to enhance the quality and accuracy of tax operations and minimize manual efforts
- Assisting with tax audits, inquiries, and notices
- Support ad-hoc tax projects
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant or Bachelor's in accounting
- 5 to 10 years of experience in a global tax team with a multinational company
- Strong Accounting skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A mix of Big four and industry accounting experience is preferred
- Effective communication, explain complex rules using easy terms and concepts
- GAAP Financial Accounting and ASC 450 / broad level of ASC 740 knowledge
- Experience with the implementation and automation of the system is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Transfer Pricing, Permanent Establishment, withholding taxes, etc
- Adaptability and ability to operate in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving global tax law environment and a data-driven organization
