Job title: Monitoring Solution ArchitectAbout the jobOur Team:The Monitoring Service delivers monitoring and supervision capabilities for all Sanofi infrastructure, application and network assets on a global level across all hosting locations In scope are 21000+ servers, 2000 RDBMS, 7000 network devices and 1500 applications hosted in 3 main regional data centers, 70 distributed local sites and AZURE/AWS/Google cloud Primary mission is to proactively detect outages on Sanofi applications to limit impact on end user experience and accelerate resolution and recovery The internal team is staffed with service managers to ensure the delivery and solution architects designing and building the necessary capabilities required for the reliable run The operational level is covered by a managed service working in close collaboration with the internal Sanofi team.

Main responsibilities:

• In an Operational and Tactical role:

The Monitoring Solution Architect is responsible for the design, implementation and publishing of application and infrastructure performance monitoring according to the application SLAFor his clients the Monitoring Solution Architect is in charge of analysing the target application or infrastructure architecture and the associated business functions, and so designing and implementing the appropriate monitoring capabilities to measure the solution behaviours and make a complete health check over the time Interaction happens with both the system owners and operational teams to measure, control and publish performanceThe Monitoring Solution Architect is the point of contact for all monitoring needs of the project team during the definition and the support team during the run phase

• Analyse system architecture in order to determine appropriate system/server metrics to be collected and all component that may impact the application performance
• Interact with system monitoring team to capture relevant metrics and measures
• Collect functional requirements and associated business processes for applications in order to monitor and measure them as part of the SLA when required
• Coordinate monitoring development team to meet application monitoring requirements.

• Design the monitoring reports and publishing capability according to the SLA
• Actively participate to remediation teams when problems are discovered

• In a Strategic Role

• Design and implementation of the toolsets necessary to cover all monitoring needs
• Contribute to Monitoring strategy definition with Service Owner and Manager
• design & develop new monitoring capabilities in closed collaboration with technical and Solution owner
• Continuously analyse monitoring tool market enabling strategic decision making on in Sanofi monitoring roadmap

• Technical knowledge
  • Broad knowledge and experience around application development lifecycle
  • Windows, Linux and Unix operating system
  • Medium skills on RDBMS (Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL) and SQL language
  • Strong knowledge of application performance monitoring in on-prem, hybrid and cloud based environments
  • Strong understanding on Telemetry concept, data models and standards (CIM, OpenTelemetry etc)
  • Advanced skills in SPLUNK Enterprise and Splunk Cloud (SaaS)
    • SPLUNK component architecture
    • SPLUNK input knowledge on various technologies and formats (file, RDBMS, EMS, snmp, API etc.
      
      )
    • SPLUNK SPL search language to correlate and aggregate data from various data sources
    • Manage and operate SPLUNK in a large enterprise context with high level of automation
    • SPLUNK dashboarding and reporting (Classic and Dashboarding Studio)
  • Solid experience of infrastructure design and development
  • Good overview on the overall monitoring solution market and the future evolution streams
• IS Architecture
  • Strong knowledge of IT architectures and their associated capacities/constraints
  • Good knowledge in shared application hosting platforms and their associated capacities/constraints
  • Good knowledge of the cloud hosting services
• Communication
  • Possess strong oral and written communications skills in order to interact efficiently with the different project actors: Business analysts, Application Architects, system engineers
  • English (fluent spoken and written)
  • Demonstrates the experience and ability to work independently and/or supervise a team of consultants
  • Proven networking and communication skills
• Project Management
  • Manage small to medium evolution and deployment projects leading a project team
• ITSM/ITIL
  • Good understanding of incident, change, problem and request management concept in large enterprise IT environments
  • Good understanding of CMDB and asset management
• Organization/planning
  • Manage their priorities according to projects urgencies and enterprise strategy
  • Autonomous way of working
  • Coordination of multiple project actors: Business Analysts, system engineers, Application Architects

• Work experience
  • 5 years of experience in different IT disciplines
  • 2 years of experience in Application Monitoring
