When you add that to the challenges we take on and solve together, you'll discover that at HARMAN you can grow, make a difference and be proud of the work you do everydayAbout the RoleWe are seeking a talented and experienced HMI Tool Architect to join our team The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HMI Architecture, computer graphics, software development and user interface design The primary responsibility of this role is to architect HMI tools for customizing the user interfaces that enable the integration of augmented reality technology into a vehicle's head-up display The position involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, UX designers, and product managers, to create tools that allow end-users to easily customize and configure HMIs.

Your TeamNo direct / indirect reportsWhat You Will Do

• Develop and implement strategies for building customized HMI tools that meet the specific needs of OEM customers
• Work closely with software engineers to design and develop customized software solutions for HMI tool development
• Collaborate with UX designers to create visually appealing and user-friendly HMI customization interfaces
• Evaluate and recommend third-party HMI customization tools and libraries that can be used in conjunction with in-house tools
• Develop and maintain documentation for HMI customization tools and processes.
  
  
• Participate in code reviews and provide guidance to other software developers on best practices for HMI tool development
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in HMI customization tools and technologies

What You Need

• Bachelor / master's degree in electrical engineering or Computer Engineering
• 12+years of experience in software development, with a focus on HMI
• 4+years of experience in application development with 3D features, such as 3D engine development, Unity 3D related applications development
• Experience in 3D design tools such as Unity3D, Blender, MAYA, 3D MAX
• In-depth understanding of 3D concepts, such as different 3D model formats, 3D scene, Light/Shadow, Texture, Material etc.
  
  
• Strong knowledge of HMI design principles and user experience best practices
• Good understanding of UX tools like Figma and plugins associated with it
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
• Ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies

What is Nice to Have

• Knowledge of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies
• Experience in Linux/QNX HMI development
• Experience in OpenGL, Vulkan, Shader is preferred.
  
  
• Experience in using or developing 3D engine such as Ogre, bullet, KANZI, QT3D is preferred
