Duties and Responsibilities: Develop equipment controls by analysing production requirements, improving, repairing, and testing manufacturing equipment Responsible for finding and solving control problems during production, as well as quickly and effectively fix control issues Support Automation of current, and future, manufacturing operations Establish, maintain, and follow procedures to implement process improvements and changes Understand machine schematics, hardware requirements, PLC machine codes, and improve HMI interface requirements for production processes.
Provide technical support between database system, and control systems that directly affect plant operations Facilitate and/or interface with Electro-Mechanical Technician, Engineering, Operations, Quality, as well as all internal department teams Individual will have the ability to think creatively and suggest alternative design/development solutions for manufacturing Equipment interface and control Support continuous improvement initiatives through active participation on improvement teams Keep site management informed, on a timely basis, of activities and actions that could affect decisions, planning, performance etc.
Participates in, and directs the troubleshooting and repair of pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems of plant equipment Recognize and resolve equipment problems promptly to minimize the effect on production schedules Utilizes the Preventative Maintenance program and performs equipment preventive maintenance tasks (PM's) Operate, and maintain, general machine shop tools and equipment Install/ program/troubleshoot electrical or electromechanical components and controllers on production lines.
New equipment installations this includes moving, assembling, rigging, leveling and aligning from blueprints and specsQualifications: Bachelor's degree/ Diploma in related field and 3 years' experience in a related field or Associate's degree, completion of accredited Journeyperson's Program Or Electrical Technical Certificate and 5 years' experience in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge of machinery & electrical control systems, 380V 3-phase and DC control voltages Ability to troubleshoot PLC.
Ability to understand and repair electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic prints and equipment Knowledge of various programming languages a plus Knowledge of VFD's drive units Knowledge of Electrical standards Ability to work independently, take initiative, troubleshoot & resolve issues with little or no assistance Lead projects including communication, tracking, and follow-up to ensure maximum benefit from improvement efforts.
Able to communicate effectively to gather information from a diverse group and assemble reasonable solutions Able to use computer system software including Access, Excel, and PowerPoint
