JOB DESCRIPTIONJob PurposeOur Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) systems enables monitoring and analysis of ICE's global data center footprint and the underlying facility operations network which is critical to ensuring we can monitor the network connectivity, power, cooling, and environmental meters The Senior DCIM Engineer (SDCIME) is responsible for leading technically complex DCIM engineering projects for the facilities infrastructure operations team This includes working cross functionally with other technical organizations including design teams, construction, field operations, vendors and R&D conducted in the Data Center and Access Centers conform to Data Center procedures and industry best practices The candidate will support the establishment and maintenance of the controls and monitoring infrastructure for existing sites, new site deployments and retrofits, improve and develop quality assurance and device management methods and procedures, and own escalated production issues The ideal candidate shall be able to work independently through deep dives and expert analyses.

The SDCIME will conduct DCIM work as directed This work may be project based or it may be tasks received via incident management and workflow management tools In all cases the SDCIME will ensure that Change Control rules are followed, and support documentation is appropriate and correct The role will also be responsible for advising and instructing Operations Engineers as required and offering guidance on standard DCIM practices and fault finding as needed Responsibilities

• Support the Data Center Engineering team and function as an DCIM escalation point for the Team
• Coordination with cross-functional partners to ensure device data is entered and maintained in the DCIM tools
• Maintain the 'process and procedure' documentation relating to all aspects of DCIM tools
• Analyze and resolve production issues independently and as a member of a cross-functional team
• Develop tooling improvements working closely with end users and cross-functional partners
• Develop and document standards for DCIM systems and User Interface (UI) platforms
• Review DCIM UI designs for feasibility & implementation.
  
  
• Prepare cost analysis and business cases for DCIM deployments, retrofits, and improvements
• Collaborate with the on-site data center operation teams to improve workflow efficiency of DCIM reporting, functionality, system testing & troubleshooting
• Support and collaborate with partner teams to assist with DCIM connectivity maintenance outages
• Review and develop DCIM Method of Procedures & Change Management Requests and communicate activities with potential impacts to external and internal teams
• Participate in incident review meetings, root cause analysis investigations and discussions
• Respond as needed during DCIM outages and incidents
• Review reliability engineering to ensure continued service delivery during DCIM retrofits, updates, and maintenances
• Perform system audits, DCIM engineering studies, as-built updates, and testing
• DCIM/BMS ongoing implementation and support

Knowledge and Experience

• Pro-active and flexible with ability to work either as part of a team or as an individual
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of industry DCIM standards & best in class systems
• Understanding of monitoring protocols, data analysis and reporting
• Working knowledge of Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) implementation and support
• Working knowledge of BACnet, Modbus and SNMP communication protocols
• Understanding of various components within structured cabling systems and design
• Experience with hardware manufacturer installation standards and knowledge of structured wiring installations and standards
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in DCIM, design, construction, and operations
• Basic network knowledge and good experience of a broad range of IT hardware particularly Dell, Juniper and Arista
• Understanding of IP networks
• Experience of working in an ITIL controlled environment with knowledge of Change Control, Incident Management & Problem Management processes
• Good experience using Microsoft Office and CRM databases
• Ability to prioritise effectively
• Ability to manage 3rd party contract staff/companies working within the data center
• Strong attention to detail
• Desire to learn and progress within the organization
• Ability to self-serve, investigate, and execute with minimal instruction
• Excellent time management skills
