About Bechtel:Differentiated by the quality of our people and our relentless drive to deliver the most successful outcomes, we align our capabilities to our customers' objectives to create a lasting positive impact Job Summary:The Materials Engineering Technology (MET) team is increasing capabilities to support projects in the Oil, Gas and Chemicals, Power and Mining and Metals business unit of Bechtel Global There is a vacancy in the New Delhi office for an experienced professional Materials Engineer, qualified to degree level in the practice of Materials Engineering, Corrosion Engineering and MetallurgyA minimum of eight years' industrial experience is required for this position Candidate should have held a mid-level industrial position in welding, materials engineering technology and / or corrosion science/engineering.

The Materials Engineer will perform following duties:

• Establish metallurgical requirements for equipment and piping in petroleum refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, metal & mining facilities
• Develop technical specifications for materials and testing, welding, NDT and corrosion control
• Support in material selection philosophy reports and material selection diagrams
• Support to engineering disciplines in preparation of data sheets and requisition packages
• Review of metallurgical content of technical bids
• Post award technical support including vendor print review, resolving MET-related queries with vendors
• Perform corrosion assessments (if applicable to the specific role)
• Support the project through construction and commissioning phases
• Perform materials engineering activities on projects independently and provide technical supervision for a group of junior engineers

Specific capabilities required for the role include:

• A sound knowledge of material damage mechanisms associated with petroleum refineries, petrochemical plants and power plants
• Knowledge of international materials standards and testing, pressure vessel and piping fabrication codes, welding, NDT and Heat Treatment
• Experience in engineering of oil/gas production plant, petroleum refineries, pipelines, petrochemical plant, power plants, metal and mining
• Broad working knowledge the principles and practices of Materials Engineering
• Ability to coordinate work with other engineering disciplines

Having basic knowledge of other materials related technologies mentioned below will be an advantage:

Candidate will be required to:

• Plan and conduct independent work within the India Office, using sound judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria
• Devise practical approaches to solving materials engineering problems
• Coordinates technical issues with other departments on projects including constructability requirements and reviews
• Travel to support activities at construction sites, supplier's works or in other engineering offices

The materials engineer will work as part of Global MET team and should have basic flair for working with personnel of different nationalities Should have a good proficiency for spoken and written English language Grade 25: 11 - 15 years of experience is required Grade 26: 15+ years of experience is required
