Senior Engineer - System EngineeringIndiaGroup Trucks TechnologyVolvoWant to contribute towards building a Sustainable future in transport solutionsAt Volvo Group Trucks Technology, we are currently looking for a Senior Engineer in System Engineering to accelerate our progress in the Powertrain Development journey by joining our fantastic team towards building a safer, healthier, and cleaner environment for our futureWhat do we doWe perform System Engineering, Simulation and Analysis of the complete powertrain system (engine, transmission and aftertreatment system) of Trucks to predict the impact of changes in the product development process on the performance of the system like Fuel Economy, Emission regulations and Performance improvementSound interesting We want you to join us!What will you doYou will together with a team of multidisciplinary engineers aim to develop virtual methods at various stages of the development process making the process leaner, more efficient, and cost effective To begin with, you could start with - Application Engineering: Vehicle Level Validation, Data generation, its analysis, Customer Adaptation and In vehicle Protocol tests Homologation and Certification/CoP support: Support engine and vehicle testing of our various stakeholders at different test locations for regulatory approvals.
You will also be a vital part of Virtual Calibration on our journey towards Data driven Powertrain development and partner with our global sites with remote Calibration support You will make use of relevant tools like MATLAB, Simulink, Python to build the models and to run simulations for Verification for various ECU diagnostics You will also contribute through simulations to find the Root Cause and providing sustainable long-term solutions for challenging field issues Most importantly, you will act as a SPOC for our various stakeholders in fulfilling their requirements from powertrain point of view You will also be responsible to create Engineering Reports at the conclusion of major initiatives, which forms an essential part of this role.
You will work in agile teams through good collaboration with our colleagues in development, calibration, and design teams all around the world You along with the team will be responsible for understanding customer usage and performance of our products and for providing solutions throughout entire product life cycle, from idea investigation and concept evaluation to industrialization You will make meaningful interpretations, recommendations and eventually predictions from the Data available from various sources to support our endeavour in moving towards Data Driven Powertrain DevelopmentWe strive to have an open and honest environment within the teams, where it is easy to ask each other for support when needed The tasks can be either part of a larger project or short tasks to improve products currently in production.
You will therefore get the opportunity to interact with highly committed colleagues from different culturesWho are youWe believe that to be successful in this position, you are a team player, have strong experience in calibration, with a focus on Engine Calibration - Air path, driveability, torque model, emission and OBD calibration and a will to deliver You have experience with handling large, multi-variable datasets You must have used ETAS INCA / ATI VISION for calibration You must have used MATLAB/Python/AVL Concerto or similar tools to work with data from the field trucks/test cells and should have the ability to interpret the data.
You should also be capable of working with Instrumentation for loggers and sensors and possess working knowledge in communication protocols (CAN/LIN)You have a willingness to learn and take more responsibility with can-do attitude You can work smoothly with Global Experts in System Engineering and show the potential to be able to stand on par with them Most importantly, you should have openness to travel locally and globally extensively upon assignments given to youIf you are a Bachelor's / Master's Degree holder in Mechanical/ Automobile/ Mechatronics Engineering with 6 or more years of relevant experience in Diesel Engine Calibration, have strong analytical skills and have gained a strong domain understanding in Powertrain Engineering then you can be a good fit into this role.
