OverviewWithin Corporate Risk, the Independent Testing and Validation (IT&V) group is responsible for establishing and maintaining a consolidated testing and validation (T&V) program at the corporate level Independent Testing and Validation is responsible for developing a common methodology and standards, providing governance and oversight, executing testing and conducting horizontal reviews Testing and validation teams are responsible for implementing the testing methodology and standards and executing group- specific testingQuality Assurance of Testing and Validation: Independent risk management testing teams conduct, on a periodic or ongoing basis, quality assurance reviews of their completed testing and validation activities to assess the adequacy, completeness, and conformance of those activities to this Policy and any corresponding procedures Results of quality assurance reviews are documented, and any weaknesses or deficiencies identified are communicated to appropriate stakeholders for awareness and action.
The Senior Independent Testing Specialist is responsible for performing QA assessments to ensure testing engagement comply with Policy requirements and underlying testing effectively assessed risk Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Perform Quality Assurance reviews
- Perform second level review of Quality Assurance (QA) engagements and determine the risks associated with any findings noted
- Supports Sr Manager/Director as needed with reporting, policies & procedure updates, sampling, calibration of QA results, and supporting our QC team
- Leads leadership communication routines with direct outreach to senior leaders across IT&V
- Improve and support the consolidation, analysis and presentation of reporting activities including status, results, findings, and concerns
- Supports enhancement of the QA program and build out of an effective RCSA-based testing QA approach.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding of audit, regulatory compliance, or risk management
- Experience managing or reviewing testing engagements in financial institutions, public accounting or equivalent regulatory or audit experience
- Strong knowledge and understanding of end-to-end testing methodology and the ability to challenge testing effectiveness
- Familiarity with major regulations for a US-based bank
- Ability to exercise independent judgment to identify and resolve problems
- Ability to effectively communicate, verbal and written, with various levels of management, including senior leaders and executives.
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
- Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability
Required Qualifications, International:
- 8+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, business process management) or 8+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 6+ years must include direct experience in risk management
