He/she will work with the BIP Leadership, the Law Department, Engineering, and Business Unit Leaders to ensure the Boeing Company is capturing, protecting, and enabling our patent portfolio and trade secretsPosition Responsibilities:
- Central point of contact for IP rights enquiries and advice
- Developing and advising stakeholders on appropriate IP strategies to support and protect the business' current and future objectives
- Collaborating with business stakeholders and Boeing Intellectual Property (BIP) to develop and maintain Intellectual Property (IP), technical data and software management systems, including customer deliverables
- Advising the business on application of processes and tools for managing IP, including management of trade secrets and other proprietary information
- Leading invention disclosure harvesting and encourage invention disclosure submission
- Capturing and record existing IP
- Assisting to develop IP Strategies and plans to protect business
- Working with the businesses to ensure compliance with Boeing IP strategy and broader Boeing IP policies
- Monitor changes in IP regulations and practices
- Developing and conducting general and country specific IP Training to strengthen IP awareness
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Experience developing Intellectual Property (IP) plans, policies, procedures and processes
- Experience with providing technical support on patent strategy development, target portfolio development, patent portfolio management, portfolio mining
- Experience with invention disclosure harvesting
- Requires analytical skills, critical thinking, confidence and cross functional relationship building, strong communication, as well as a self-motivated and persuasive personality with a
- positive attitude
- Experience working with processes and procedures for creation of Intellectual Property (IP), rights, and the legal status of various forms of IP (eg.
, patent prosecution and registration, trademark registration, copyright ownership, trade secret protection, etc)
