You will work and collaborate with your team to deliver a highly scalable and reliable product Collaborate with other team members to derive innovative solutions to complex problems Seek to run solutions in a cost optimized mannerIn support of our developer platform, you will build and operate a cloud runtime to support running 12 factor microservices The cloud environment will be designed to support transitional phases from datacentres and other cloud endpoints.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundational skillset in networking, compute, storage, and cloud to bring experience in designing a future runtime for workloads at Maersk The team will be additionally responsible for running all developer platform components in a highly reliable and scalable architectureAs a senior engineer, you will demonstrate the following characteristics: -The ideal candidate will have a background that spans development and operations We are looking for software engineers with preference for staff with experience working in infrastructure, plus some ability across all areas bracketed technology is desirable

• Development - Git (Github), Github Actions, Opensource CI/CD, Cloud CI/CD
• Observability - Metrics, Logging, Tracing
• Backend - API, CLI, process orchestration, Java
• Open Source - Experience building, deploying and operating open-source technologies
• Cloud - experience architecting and automating the configuration of cloud

Key Responsibilities

• Build a shared cloud environment for hosting microservice based applications
• Build, maintain and adapt cloud implementation over time due to changing requirements
• Drive automation and testing on the team to ensure highest levels of stability and quality
• Run and operate open-source platform components
• Be an advocate for the platform by engaging with engineering teams to show best practices
• Write clean concise documentation for internal and external audiences
• Be a member of hiring panels

Key Skills

• Strong experience of at least two clouds, one of which must be Azure, AWS or Google
• Strong experience in infrastructure components (DNS, CDN, Cloud Networking, Cloud Interconnect, Subscription/VPC Peering, Subnetting)
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Experience in several infrastructure open-source technologies (Consul, Vault, Temporal, Kubernetes, Envoy, Kuma, Istio, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Experience in programming (Golang, Terraform, Java)
• Experience understanding of microservice based architectures and how to achieve composability
• Understanding of microservice based architectures and how to achieve composability
• Excellent communication skills, solid work ethic, and a strong desire to write production quality code.
