Senior Structural Design Engineer Enr Job In Burns Mcdonnell In Mumbai

DescriptionBurns & McDonnell India (BMI) Energy Division is looking for a well-rounded and driven structural Engineer in the Mumbai Office The Energy Division focuses on power generating facilities which offer a wide range of design and project execution experiences This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving complex problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria Roles & Responsibilities include: Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria Performs work that involves conventional engineering practices but may involve a variety of complex features.

Requires general knowledge of precedents in specialty areas and familiarity with basic principles and practices in related specialties May coordinate departmental and divisional project studies and report preparation assignments The position will require extensive interface with equipment suppliers/vendors and with Burns & McDonnell project managers, other engineering disciplines, modelers, designers, and detailers locally in the Mumbai office as well as remotely in various offices in the United States Additional responsibilities include:

• Perform and check routine/complex calculations and designs using computer-aided and manual design techniques
• Design of equipment foundations.
  
  
• Structural steel design for pipe racks and other power plant structures
• Coordinate project design assignments and design teams
• Develop scope of work, conceptual design, and execution plans
• Preparing engineering cost and person-hour estimates and schedules
• Provide leadership, guidance, instruction, and mentorship to less experienced staff members.
  
  
• Travel to the United States as required and requested to support assignments on projects and overall office needs
• Other duties as assigned

QualificationsWork experience which demonstrates progressive design and project management responsibilities Experience with design scope development, budget preparation and project execution, meeting schedule requirements and maintaining established budgets This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments.

Must be capable of interpreting and developing solutions to complex problems

• Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering from an accredited program
• Minimum 10-15 years of related experience
• Software proficiency includes RISA-3D, RISA Foundation, Ram Connection, STAADPro, Navisworks and/or Smart Plant Review.
  
  
• Excellent written & verbal communication, as well as strong analytical & problem-solving skills, are required
• Must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered
• Previous consulting engineering experience in the power industry is preferred
