Job Description : Nutanix engineers are creating a revolutionary technology, building the software defined data center We're using our love of programming and outstanding backgrounds to change the way companies virtualize their data center At Nutanix, we work closely with our product in a collegiate, collaborative environment that encourages the open exploration of ideas As part of this role you will own the service which runs within Nutanix subsystem and communicates with Guest VM: Nutanix Guest Tools (NGT) These services enable ease of operation within the guest VM.

You will be required to design a backward-compatible, upgradable, and highly scalable service which enables this functionality Your Role:

• Understand requirements and design functionalities to work across different versions of services
• Enable functionalities to work on different OS and Hypervisor flavours
• Enabling various features on NGT and delivering improvements
• Enabling NGT to work at scale.
  
  

• Improve performance and scalability of internal back-end components
• Diagnose and debug deep and insidious issues
• Influence & develop revolutionary ways to expand feature offerings & product line

What You'll bring :

• Love of programming and rock-solid in one or more languages: C/C++, Python, ideally for enterprise-quality software
• Extensive knowledge of development Linux and Windows
• Development experience in file systems, operating systems, database back-ends, distributed systems management
• Familiarity with OS internals, concepts of distributed data management, and design/implementation tradeoffs in building clustered, high- performance, fault-tolerant distributed systems software.
  
  
• Experience working with virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V, Xen VMware preferred Experience with developing windows installer (Wix) and packaging frameworks like RPM is a plus
• Bachelor's/Master's (required) in Computer Science
• 9+ years of development experience will be required
• Strong Distributed Systems development and architecting skills.
