We deliver both customer-facing solutions that bridge the boundaries between cloud services as well as the UI infrastructure that other teams in the broader OCI use to do the same As such we operate and support both outwardly and inwardly to both external customers and other service teams alikeAs a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architectureResponsibilities:- Provide strong project leadership and lead a team of dynamic software developers to build and maintain customer-facing applications- Seek opportunities to continuously improve quality and development processes- Recruit top talent to grow the team capacity- Track and report the progress of the project against key milestones- Balance resources with task assignments- Ensure on-time and high-quality delivery of the project- Coordinate projects that span multiple teams- Assist direct reports with career growth and personal development- Keep stakeholders updated throughout the development cycleDesired Qualifications:- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent experience- 10+ years of experience delivering and supporting highly available browser-based user interfaces and applications- 2+ years of people management experience with an engineering team- Working familiarity with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures- Strong grasp of User Experience and User Interface Design- Exposure to technologies like JavaScript and React- Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment- Working familiarity with scrum/agile processes- Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking tools
