About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineering Senior Manager who will be part of a technology led innovation at an enterprise scale to transform Telemetry, Monitoring, Event Management and Observability for on-prem platforms, as well as private and public cloudOur vision is to deliver observability capabilities to customers for consumer grade insight at competitive price utilizing open source and open standards, while modernizing to reduce cost of failure, improve availability, and optimize software engineering capacityIn this role, you will:
- Manage and develop teams of engineering managers and more experienced engineering leads in roles with moderate complexity and risk
- Partner with more experienced product leaders, lead systems architects, and engineering managers to develop product functional and technical strategies for the line of business product portfolio, and with more experienced product leaders to drive strategic outcomes
- Provide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providers
- Engage and influence more experienced product leaders, lead systems architects, and engineering managers who are either associated with the function or affected by its outcomes
- Identify and recommend opportunities for continuously improving software engineering practices and productivity of teams
- Determine appropriate strategy and actions of business line product portfolio teams to meet moderate to high risk deliverables, providing expertise and thought leadership in the portfolio domain
- Interpret and develop actionable strategies and plans for engineering teams and supported areas
- Oversee engineering teams to deliver commitments aligned to line of business strategic priorities
- Support financial forecast and budget development
- Recommend risk management requirements for supported area and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
- Collaborate with and influence stakeholders, more experienced product leaders, and all levels of professionals, including senior managers
- Act as the primary interface with third party vendors and technology service providers supporting products within the portfolio
- Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry forums
- Manage allocation of people and financial resources to ensure commitments are met and align with strategic objectives in Software Engineering
- Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy
In this role, you will:
- Lead a technology team working as Infrastructure Engineers and Software Developers providing Engineering, Development and Support service to Monitoring/Observability Products
- Actively contribute to building next generation solutions for Telemetry, Monitoring, Event Management, Observability & Automation Services, enhancing the current service levels
- Talent Management, Stakeholder Management, Strategic Management, Operational & Process Management, Financial management
- Effectively manage the end-to-end asset lifecycle including patch compliance, vulnerability management, and configuration drift management
- Collaborate with US technology managers to implementing various initiatives in a team extension model
- Proactively manage risk including deliverables, operational issues through implementation of right controls and escalate where required.

Required Qualifications,:
- 15+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent including systems, applications, or architecture
- 10+ years of experience in a technical management role
- 10+ years of experience in managing teams responsible for Monitoring Engineering
- 7+ years of Synthetic Monitoring, Distributed Traces, Event Management (AIOps), Big Data, Machine Learning, Time series metrics experience
- 7+ years of experience in Grafana Dashboard, development, single pane of glass visualization, telemetry
Desired Qualifications:
- Required skills on Observability, Application & Synthetic Monitoring
- Experienced with managing and leading highly skilled engineering teams including automation developers
- Experienced or Exposure towards App Dynamics, Dynatrace, Elastic APM, Tempo, Atternity etc
- Experienced towards Elastic Grafana visualization, Single Pane of Glass, Self Service automation etc
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams
- Enterprise experience with one or more CI/CD implementation, configuration management, build, and orchestration tools: Jenkins, Gradle, uDeploy, GitHub, GitHub Action, Artifactory, Harness IO, Spinnaker, Terraform and Ansible
- Experience with container solution implementations, preferably Kubernetes or Docker
- Prior role involving Event management and Automation with large financial institutions
- Knowledge of agile methodologies, and product operating model
- Knowledge and understanding of application or software security such as: web application penetration testing, secure code review, secure static code analysis, separation of duties
- Knowledge and understanding of technology architecture: solutions development
- Knowledge and understanding of complex enterprise systems and frameworks including frontends, middleware, services layer, database, backend, and downstream interfaces
