Job SummaryAs a key member of the IT Operations group, reporting to the Network Manager,the Senior Engineer`s primary focus is on leading critical IT projects and mentoring team members as well as supporting them in and advanced troubleshooting As a Senior Engineer you will deploy best practices across the network with special attention to wireless deployments and configurations,network security and refreshesAs part of this well-respected IT group, you will collaborate with multiple individuals from different teams and act as an expert in deployment of the latest technologies (5G, IIOT, Cloud) at AvantorHandle Critical projects: Be the lead for Critical projects involving Data Centers and high priority sitesMentor the Team: should be able to provide technical support to the team and help the team members grow their technical skills.

Handle Escalation: Take care of escalations from the operations team and other Engineers in the teamNetwork Standard: Be a lead in analyzing the current network setup and improve them to meet the standardsNext-Gen Network: Provide suggestions and work closely with the Network Architect to make the Avantor network being next-genLead Technical Support: Optimize and make a positive employee support experiencePartner with Security & Compliance: Drive core security and compliance projects to ensure we're protecting our information assetsExcel at communication: Be a clear & timely communicator to our associates & leadership, about the state and strategy of Core IT Services & OperationsChampion and role model Avantor's cultural principles: Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset,Be Inclusive, Win as a Team as we scale globally and across new officesQUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)Bachelor's degree or equivalent experienceMinimum Seven years' experience working with information technology, with emphasis on wide area data networksExperience in large network environments (more than 1,000 employees & 50+ sites).

Experience dealing directly with major telecommunication carrier(s) and outsourcing service provider(s)Familiarity with wide area data network environment is a plus CCIE or other advanced network and infrastructure professional certifications preferredKNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)Skills: Thorough understanding of technology as it relates to telecommunications & data communications,data centers, network architecture, security, and troubleshootingMust have led large network migrations or transformationsMust have excellent troubleshooting skillHands on experience in LAN WAN deployements, SD-WAN, Firewalls - Palo AltoSolid experience with Networking products of Cisco, F5, Palo Alto, Viptela, Meraki, and Aruba.
