This is who we are at our best One Company One Team AMD together we advance_ PLATFORM PROGRAM MANAGERTHE ROLE:In this high-profile role, you will be the overall program leader for key engineering initiatives from concept to execution You will work across all of engineering and business to meet overall initiative and/or product objectives.

As a Platform Program Manager in Embedded Business Unit, you will be responsible for the planning and logistics of embedded platform and system engineering projects supporting AMD IP and customer system solutions By managing both internal and external deliverables, you will work to ensure all embedded new products are delivered on time This role provides an excellent growth opportunity for high performing individuals looking to make a difference and deliver a stand-out experience to customers of AMDThe ability to establish and drive to goals including plan of record, timelines, budget, scope, performance and quality will be critical to success A passion for creating plans and working with a diverse team of creative engineers and senior executives is necessary for this critical and highly visible role.

The applicant must be a team player with a commitment to meeting deadlines and an aptitude to thrive in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment THE PERSON:The right candidate will have solid knowledge of technical program management, an outstanding track record of delivering sophisticated software/hardware programs, you will also drive a schedule for business planning towards growth that align to business strategy KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Defines, plans and drives projects and program plans based on management and senior technical guidance
• Scope technical feasibility of new Products by clarifying and analyzing requirements with SW/HW/IP Architects, Technical Leads and Engineers
• Create and drive logistics for system BOM and test equipment (ie, critical components, costing, etc)
• Develop program schedule by considering various component dependencies, negotiate and create a staffing plan that supports the schedule
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders in product planning, development, and validation activities
• Building, creating, and maintaining a well-developed, managed and executed program plan is critical
• Handle cross functional engagements (Bring up/Layout/SI/Compliance).
  
  Manage external vendor engagements
• You will establish formal program management artifacts including a plan of record, statements of work, project/program timelines, budget, scope, performance, and quality KPIs
• Assist in developing and implementing project management best practices, tools, templates and metrics to drive continuous process improvement within engineering

• Excellence in resource planning is necessary
• The successful candidate must also plan for risks in the development path, identify prevention methods, and address them to save on engineering costs
• Accountable for Platform design/development and Silicon IP enablement, debug and validation related deliverables and reports regularly on status, decisions, issues, etc to Engineering and Business leadership
• Being comfortable working with senior executives is a hard requirement You must address the needs and requirements called upon from AMD's Engineering, Product Management and Customer Engineering organizations

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Technical background in semiconductor industry with 5 years on hands on technical work and 5 years of program management experience
• Experience leading Hardware/System Validation projectEnd to End knowledge of Platform lifecycle
• Ability to grasp concepts during discussions and turn minutes into action items
• Proven experience in Silicon design/validation background (Pre-Silicon and Post-Silicon experience desired)
• Ability to structure and execute complex analysis, draw insights, and communicate summary findings/recommendations to senior management.
  
  Ability to network, build relationships, and drive effective decision-making across multiple functions and levels within the organization
• Able to communicate concepts and processes with stakeholders
• Analytical, self-motivated, organized, detailed-oriented and results-oriented
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with multiple people and teams, ability to communicate progress to team members on a regular basis

• Experience working in a high-pressure environment and competing priorities and tight turnaround times
• Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence and Excel is an asset

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or Electrical/Electronics & Communication Engineering
• Formal Project Management education, PMP certification is preferred, but not mandatory
