Staff Quality Engineer Job In Teradata In India, Hyderabad / Secunderabad, Telangana

• 8+ years of QA/Test development and validation experience
• Graduate or Post Graduate in Computer Science or Electronics with knowledge on Database concepts & SQL is highly desirable
• Strong working knowledge on at least one cloud platform - Azure / Google Cloud / AWS and/or VMWare
• UNIX/Linux system administration experience and at least one programming/scripting language is a must, preferably Python
• Test tool development, programing, shell scripting, and automated test execution within CI/CD tool chain - Jenkins, GitHub, Etc
• Ability to learn new technologies and tools quickly and to leverage that knowledge for results analysis and problem solving
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with members of Engineering and Quality groups
• Strong understanding of test processes
• Results oriented working within a collaborative team
• Teradata Database and Client Utilities experience is a plus
• Proficiency with tools including Github, Jira, Wiki, Artifactory & Jenkins
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Mentor other analysts by sharing knowledge and skills that make the team more productive
• knowledge of software engineering practices and metrics
• Thorough understanding of relational database logical and physical design concepts
• Good understanding of database server and client communication mechanisms
• Working knowledge of parallel processing and inter-process communication
• Strong analytical abilities involving complex software in a distributed integrated environment
• Feature analysis, test design, and execution for both database features and integrated environments
• Ability to analyze test results, identify issues, and clearly write technical reports that accurately describe the defect, root causes, and potential solutions
• Create and maintain reports to escalate problems to development engineering
• Communicate effectively, both written and oral, with development and other engineers
• Regularly report progress on problem resolution, and status against objectives on periodic basis

• Create/Evaluate Test Design Specification documents and validate that Feature Design Specifications are covered within the specification
• Analyze Feature Design specifications and identify test coverage opportunities
• Provide high-level test design for any new/existing features to ensure customer-centric test coverage during integration testing

• Develop fully automated tests to validate Teradata database and other components/functions and mimic customer like scenarios and workloads

• Test and certify the Teradata Database Product on multiple platforms
• Integration testing of the Teradata Database with various cloud environments (AWS, Azure GCP & TDVM)

• Develop tests to reproduce and verify customer reported issues and fixes
• Perform customer-centric validation of the Vantage products at an integration level, to validate product integration, reliability, and resiliency
• Independently analyze & report the defects/issues encountered during testing
• Maintain test assets as needed

• Position reports directly to the Engineering Director
• Test methodology is black box customer focused testing on a wide range of machine configurations, on Cloud and on on-prem platforms as needed
